Take the first shot on the body of the link and when you're happy with the action, move over to the joint[01:28].
Jump the metal:
Hit the first shot on the side of the joint and jump the silver into the groove [01:33].
Tips and tricks
Black Marker Pen - Applying a black marker before laser welding reduces reflection, boosts heat absorption, enhances precision, and creates a temporary layer for smoother, more consistent welds on reflective materials.
Blue/ White tack:
Blu Tack or White Tack is often used to protect gemstones from heat damage. Since many gemstones are heat-sensitive, direct exposure to the laser can cause cracks, discolouration,or complete failure. It can also be used to help secure things in place like chains so the job becomes easier to handle.
Spot Size - At the top of the DaDo chamber, there’s a lever to adjust the laser spot size. A larger spot size reduces power but is ideal for smoothing tasks. Pull the lever closest to the machine for the smallest spot size, and closest to you for the largest.
